Three top tips to help you select the most appropriate clothing retailer.
Do you shop at the same store every time? Do you have the ability to set your car's autopilot on and go to the same location whenever you want to? There are many different kinds of shopping experiences available when you're trying to find clothes, and it's good to have a few options. What can you do to narrow your options? Here are some suggestions to help to narrow your choices:
Geographical - which shops are located within close to each other (presuming that you're at the brick and mortar store)
Budgetary - how much would like to spend
Personal style preference If you're artistic, you will prefer a shop that offers vintage or classic designs.. Try
fashion trends for size.
Your size is not available in all stores stock small, plus sizes, or clothing specifically designed for tall people.
Size of the store - sometimes we prefer small stores over larger ones (or vice versa).
If you're informed of your options How do you choose which ones will offer you the best selection? This is not a comprehensive listing, but it could help you narrow down your choices if you only have a handful of stores you frequent or if their selections make you feel restricted. This is how my customers and I choose where we go to shop.
Large department. stores (e.g. Macy's and Kohl's) - This is great if you have many requirements that you must meet in one go. It's simple to find clothing, shoes and coats, without leaving the shop. There are department stores to suit all budgets.
Specialty chains (e.g. Talbots or Banana Republic) Every store is different and you'll be able to find clothes that match your personal fashion. There are many options available for mixing and matching outfits. They also offer great customer service.
TJ Maxx and Marshalls are discounted shops (e.g. Nordstrom Rack, TJ Maxx or Marshalls). Off-price stores, such as consignment, thrift, or vintage stores are treasure hunter's favorite places. They also provide great discounts on designer products at a fraction of the cost. Either you can go with an open mind and discover what treasures you can find, or prepare ahead and be aware of what you're looking to purchase so that you don't go off in the wrong direction. The key is self-restraint. It's very easy for shoppers to get overwhelmed by the cost and purchase items they don't really require. And, if you tend to get overwhelmed, having a strategy can make it easier to manage.
It is also important to mention boutiques. These shops are typically owned locally and can fulfill a vital need in the clothing shopping experience. There is a look and feel you're searching for in these stores. Some boutiques are unique and have hand-crafted designs. Some are geared towards a specific age group or are trendy. They provide styles that you won't find in department stores that are more traditional.
Women often feel anxious about shopping at boutiques because they are afraid of the expensive prices or the pushy sales staff. These fears could be true , but they don't always prove true. It is recommended to look them up and spend the time to investigate them. And, they often offer good discounts at the end of the season. So when you are aware of what they have to offer, that's an ideal time to pick up fun items to add to your wardrobe. What exciting store experience can you add to your shopping list the next time you shop? Have fun! Remember to have fun!
